Google’s Data Center Water Treatment Plant

Earlier today we noted the industry’s efforts to reduce the use of water by large cloud computing data centers. Google says two of its newer data centers are now “water self-sufficient, including the company’s new data center in Belgium, which is located next to an industrial canal. Google has built a 20,000 square foot water treatment plant to prepare the canal water for use in its nearby data center. Here’s a video with more information about the water treatment plant, which was first presented at the Google Efficient Data Centers Summit last week in Mountain View.
