Vint Cerf on the Future of the Internet

What does “Father of the Internet” believe lies ahead for the Internet? Vint Cerf wrote the software that connected the first servers on the Internet. As Google’s Chief Internet Evangelist, Cerf remains actively engaged in discussions about the network and its future. In this July 2009 lecture at Singularity University, Cerf gives a comprehensive overview of the state of the Internet today, and shares his thoughts on the importance of IPv6, how mobile computing will impact the Internet, the need for cloud computing standards and the growing Asian prominence online. “The Asian population will the dominant user population of the Internet,” Cerf says. “There’s no doubt about that.”
